Johor Bahru - Tri Tower

This project consists of two 50 storey super condo, one 46 storey hotel towers and 3 storey of basement.

Due to slenderness of the two condo tower, a structural link is needed at Levels 39 and 40 to achieve the floor drift limitation needed under wind load. For this purpose, the structural link is designed as RC structure which is stiff enough to couple the two towers rather than a simply supported beam design.

End cell of condo units are intntionally "emptied" at certain floor for architectural purposes. The vertical load transfer is thus discontinued and the structure above the "emptied" cell is designed as cantilivered out from the main structure. To avoid heaby cantilever beam and to create a light stucture view, the RC shear walls and slabs are designed as "box" concept, make use of the inherent capability of RC shear wall to resist verical shear force and to hand (tension stress in the RC shear wall) the lower slab.
